The alumni follow-up unit in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering organized in collaboration with National English Club (NEC)

The alumni follow-up unit in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering organized in collaboration with National English Club (NEC) a training course entitled (English language conversation) on 15th of March 2018 with attending of 248 participants and graduates from different Iraqi universities. The training course consisted of varieties of topics including break the ice to speak the English language through their participation in the introduction of themselves. In addition, the course involved English proverbs and puzzles topics, where the winners were awarded prizes. Finally, video clips of famous and international movies were displayed to the participants and they contributed to interpret these video clips.

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering holds an Educational Lecture in the Presence of the Head of Department

 

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering organized on Wednesday 14th of March 2018 at Al-Kindi auditorium an educational lecture for the students of the energy and renewable energies engineering branch in the department in the presence of the Head of Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Hosham Salim Anead, the Administrative Assistant Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid Faisal Sultan, and the head of branch Asst. Prof. Dr. Talib. Z. Farage. The head of the department started his speech by mentioning the importance of the specialty of electromechanical engineering, which has characteristics that make it unique in the engineering disciplines that makes the graduates are being demanded in the market job. The head of department also pointed out that the department endeavors to obtained the ABET accreditation that makes the outcomes of the department are accepted internationally.                                                                                                    

Dr. Hosham also urged the student to wear a uniform and do not use the social media in libel or use inappropriate expressions. In addition, he urged the student to interest in public facilities belonging to the university and the department and not to write on the walls and he also emphasised on the brotherhood between the students and not to vandalize the public property.

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering Holds a Scientific Symposium Entitled “Applications of Electromechanical Systems Engineering in the

Oil Industries / Reality and Ambition”  

 

                     

 

     The scientific symposium entitled “Applications of Electromechanical Systems Engineering in the Oil Industries / Reality and Ambition” was held in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering on Monday 19th of March 2018 in the Al-Kindi auditorium. The president of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thumir, the head of Electromechanical Engineering Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Hosham Salim Anead, representatives of the Ministry of Oil as well as many heads of departments and academic staff attended this symposium.                                                

The symposium involved one session in which four lectures were delivered. The first one was presented by the Director General of the Oil Pipeline Company, Eng. Ali Jubair Lazim, which entitled "Problems and Obstacles of Work of Oil Equipment". He focused on the problems facing the company. The second one was for the academic member of Department staff, Asst. Prof. Dr. Raheeq Ismaiel Ibrahiem who viewed the role of Electromechanical Engineering in solving the work problems of the Ministry of Oil companies, while the third lecture entitled “The Modern Techniques Used for Cathodic Protection Systems for Pipes and Fuel Tanks”, which was delivered by the academic members of the department staff Asst. Prof. Dr. Jamal Abdul Karim Mohammed and Dr. Manal Kazem Odeh, whereas the fourth one entitled “Mechanical Distortions in the Fuel Transport Pipes” which was delivered by Dr. Aseel Abdul Baqi Abdul Razzq.

The symposium led to several recommendations, the most important one was the establishment of training courses in the field of electromechanical engineering in coordination with the research and development offices of the Ministry of Oil. In addition, overture the Ministry of Oil to submit the problems of oil companies to the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, where the department will help to find  solutions for these problems by taking them into consideration in the master and doctoral projects depending on the type of the problem.
