Award of Master's Degree in Electromechanical Systems

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Technology discussed a master's dissertation by the student Missa Asaad Salman, entitled "Design and Development of Thermoelectric Cooling Systems and Their Use in Special Medical Applications.". The thesis aimed to design a device to store more than one medical substance at proper temperatures for a long time. The work discussed the results of three different cases and attempted to determine the effect of using Seebeck generators on the total thermal performance in terms of temperature stability and energy savings. The researcher found the possibility of reaching a temperature of -3 °C inside an incubator, which is very suitable for preserving many medical substances. A finite element analysis is performed using the ANSYS program. The results were compared to the practical results and showed excellent matching. The panel committee voted to award the student a Master of Science with a superior grade.
